More Half-Truths from Commonwealth Partners

By October 4, 2025No Comments

Seriously, do they think we’re stupid?

In one of the many mailings people across Pennsylvania are being flooded with, the right-wing extremist organization known as Commonwealth Partners is once again only telling part of the story in an attempt to scare the citizens of PA into voting against our own best interests. This latest one involves their cherry-picking of facts in two new cases:

  1. Commonwealth v Prinkey. The justices did not “side with a predator.” They agreed that there had been problems in the handling of the defendant’s appeal and sent the case back to the lower court to review. As a result of this decision, the defendant’s sentence was not changed, he was not set free, he did not receive any leniency. All they did was tell the lower court to look at the case again and determine whether the sentence Prinkey received was a result of “vindictive prosecution.” Read the case for yourself: https://www.pacourts.us/assets/opinions/Supreme/out/J-31-2022mo%20-%20105194198190206081.pdf?cb=1
  2. Commonwealth v Dunn. Once again, the justices did not “side with a predator.” They voted that the lower court had made an error, violating what’s known as “Rule 573” which prohibits the late disclosure of evidence in a trial. Had that vote carried, the case would have been returned for a new trial. Dunn would not have been set free. The justices made no mention of the guilt or innocence of the defendant, only that the lower court had made a procedural error. Again, read for yourself: https://www.pacourts.us/assets/opinions/Supreme/out/J-69-2022edcr1%20-%20105581210228777258.pdf

Combine these 2 cases with the Bill Cosby case (which we discussed here) and you’ll see a trend. Commonwealth Partners is trying to scare people into voting against judges who have done nothing but their jobs – upholding the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. They are hoping that the people of PA will not do their own research.

Apparently Commonwealth Partners wants to punish the people of Pennsylvania for wanting their judges to support the law..

Do the right thing and vote YES to retain these justices.

Once they know the facts of these cases, I have faith in the people of Pennsylvania. We will do the right thing and vote YES to retain these justices. They uphold the law. We will not fall for the underhanded tactics of right wing extremists like Commonwealth Partners.
